Xolani Mbambo will succeed Andrew Waller as Chief Executive of Grindrod Limited

Grindrod announced on Friday, 22 July 2022, that Xolani Mbambo, the current CEO of Grindrod Freight Services, would succeed Andrew Waller as Chief Executive of Grindrod effective 1 January 2023. Andrew will be retiring at the end of 2022. Xolani joined Grindrod in 2013 and has progressed his career in various leadership roles. He has paved a clear strategy for the business and has rallied his teams to take the business to a new level. Before joining Grindrod, Xolani spent 12 years of his career in the mining sector working for Anglo American across the various roles in finance, procurement, business and commodity performance analysis, and greenfield project implementation in its corporate offices and operations in South Africa, Botswana and the UK. He holds a chartered accountancy qualification and completed his Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School in 2021.
