As part of its commitment to employee wellbeing and community health, Grindrod rolled out Blue November Men’s Health Awareness initiatives across Matola and Nacala in Mozambique and eSwatini, combining healthcare access, education, and sport-led engagement.
In Matola, more than 300 employees, community members, and local police participated in a full-day men’s health event, delivered in partnership with Vida Check-Up Clinic. The programme included screenings for hypertension, diabetes, HIV, and prostate cancer, alongside mental health support, specialist health talks, and a blood donation drive.
Football played a central role in the initiative, with equipment donated to the Lingamo community and a friendly match between Grindrod employees and community members. The game marked the launch of Grindrod’s employee football team, reinforcing teamwork, connection, and physical wellbeing.
In eSwatini, Grindrod hosted a Wellness Day focusing on team sports with neighbouring companies.
In Nacala, weekly Blue November awareness sessions were delivered throughout the month in partnership with Higia Clínica, focusing on early detection, preventive care, and men’s health education.
By investing in health and wellbeing, we’re building stronger teams and more resilient communities.
