A fond farewell to Cheryl Carolus and Nkululeko Sowazi

Today, we reflect on a deeply meaningful farewell held on 10 June and extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cheryl Carolus (Chair) and Lead Independent Director, Nkululeko “Nkunku” Sowazi, following their retirement from the Board after the AGM on 11 June.

Since joining on 1 October 2021, Cheryl has led with integrity, wisdom, and a genuinely inclusive spirit, leaving an enduring mark on the strength and character of our governance. Nkunku, who has served since 25 February 2014, has been a steady and trusted voice for over a decade, bringing insight, balance, and an unwavering commitment to long-term value creation.

Together, their leadership has shaped not only the decisions we’ve made, but the culture and character of Grindrod itself.

We thank them both for their extraordinary service, their guidance, and the legacy they leave behind, and wish them every success and fulfilment in the next chapter.
