As the year comes to a close and shops fill their shelves with Christmas decorations, children eagerly await Santa's arrival. Unfortunately, many children don't experience the excitement of receiving gifts. However, the Santa Shoebox Project, which began in Cape Town in 2006, has provided a way for people to donate shoeboxes filled with special treats for underprivileged children. This year, staff at Grindrod came together to donate 130 boxes, which were delivered to the organisers recently.
A special thanks goes to Gillian Ward and Jodie Thorburn for their dedication in coordinating and managing this initiative on behalf of Grindrod.
